The Specialist Schools Trust is now taking Primary
Schools into Affiliated Membership. Specialist Schools are required
to work with an identified family of schools : primary, middle,
special and secondary schools, to devise a community plan that meets
the needs of all the partners.
The purpose of the scheme is to -
- support and develop co-operation and
partnership working between Specialist and non-specialist schools
- improve transition between phases and
key stages
- enable collaborative working on common
issues
- enable the family of schools to access
more fully the benefits of links to Specialist Schools
- develop a coherent approach to teaching
and learning from 5 - 19 years; support and develop an integrated
approach to continuous professional development
