Community Link Kitemark Award
These are awarded to schools that are developing links with their community by opening their doors to clubs and organisations within their local area during out-of-school hours.

The Kitemark Award scheme was introduced in Croydon in 1995. The Kitemarks are awarded to Schools or educational establishments where there is an established community use of three or more evenings/sessions a week, or where new community use is being developed and is currently being used for at least two evenings/sessions a week. This means those organisations that are run by outside groups, which rent part of the school premises for the wider community. These may include activities such as childcare, sport, performing arts, community social events, supplementary schools for minority ethnic communities, adult education or religious organisations.

Schools are invited to reapply for a new star to add to their Kitemark Plaque each year. The schools that currently qualify for Kitemark awards are:

In addition, the BRIT School does not qualify for the Kitemark award, but is recognised as making a substantial effort in outreach to it’s local community.
